Like A Bohemian 2001 CSG
Thought I’d live my life out til I was 80
As a Bohemian.
Never thought I’d ask for anyone’s help again
(Not a man!)
Oh I was strong!
(A strong woman doesn’t ask for anyone’s help!)
I’d get along…
(A strong woman really depends only on herself!)
As a Bohemian!
Suddenly I was found deep in myself and lost as a kid again…
Saw the things I saw, all of a sudden, in a new way again!
Oh, I’d been brave!
(I need more bravery now than I ever needed before)
Taught to behave…
(All previous rules of behavior are thrown out as of now!)
As a Bohemian!
I was smart… to a “T”,
I could live much better than they lived.
I was hip, I was cool, I could live alone!
Take the lead, don’t you need
Act like nothing ever could bore you
Play it cool, that’s the rule
You’ll survive alone
Now I know that I’m here
Feeling alive and being in love again.
Wondering if I knew
That I was lost, and now I am found again!
Oh, I’d been blind
Forced to unwind
As a Bohemian

Her Family

HER FAMILY (In Her Family) music by Pat Metheny, lyrics by CSG
In her family I could see
All the love they gave each other…
Plainly living, plainly giving…
Always there with an open heart.
And they welcomed me,
Into her family.
In her family there were boys,
And we often played together…
Making games up;
Days and dreams of Pirate’s gold,
And a forest green…
In our days together,
Joy lived in our hearts.
All the time I ever knew them,
They were close together.
Never had I seen a family be that way!
Love came through the strangest doorways…
Sorry eyes and tearstained faces.
Realizing worth was in their hearts.
In her family, it was said
“All for one”, and “One” was Spirit.
How I wish that I were there…
To see their smiles and to feel their love.
In my heart I still can feel her family there.

Everyday's Own Song

EVERYDAY’S OWN SONG by Cathy Segal-Garcia
Back on the road I go through states of repose
Where stress will fall away
Just livin everyday’s own song!
I wake up, step out, look round…and I go!
Once on my way, I just acknowledge the day
And life moves on its own
The flow of everyday’s own song
Will move it, groove it, I will
Lose the song I sang before today!
``````````````````
As the day moves on,
It takes an air of color as I paint the canvas free
Tone and rhythm added,
They stir together as they flow into changes
And they change into a feeling, as they
Move me along, into the day’s own true song…
A joyful melody!
Where I can live the day’s own song!
I’ll take up my heart and move on to the song!
JUMP BACK 11/2004 music CSGH, lyrics CSGH & Gary Hoffman
Jump back!
I can’t take it~~
You’re gettin’ too close with your cool dude thing!
Jump back!
I can’t fake it!~~
You’re turnin’ me on, everybody can see!
Jump back!
I won’t make it~~
My nerves are on edge when you’re sweet to me!
Jump back!
Don’t you get it~~
Can’t you see what you’re doin’ to me?!
And when you move in close like that,
Something takes a hold!
I get a feelin’ inside of me~~
I’m about to lose control!
Jump back!
I can’t make it~~
My heart can’t take the strain of this!
Jump back!
More will break it!
I’m tellin’ you baby, that’s it!
California … I love you for all the right reasons
You’re with me … through all my seasons
Your mountains, your ocean, awake in me devotion!
Your landscape reveals such a sweep like the tide…
My heart swells … my eyes fill …. I’m right by your side.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
California … I love you for all the right reasons
You’re with me … through all my seasons
I’m … always loving you … like a school-girl’s fantasy
Daydreaming … palm trees sway softly … I’m in ecstasy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your freedom … your embrace
You’re wild … inside my special place
My soul will always know … the splendor of it all
Even when your mountains tumble and fall
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the heat of the light
In the cool of the night
When your waters run cold … when your air turns to gold
I’ll remember, and say….
California … I love you for all the right reasons
You’re with me … through all my seasons

Like A River

LIKE A RIVER Shelby Flint
Love, moving like a river
Is both the taker and giver
You came, you went away
Like rain on a summer day
A warm and welcome surprise
To was the world from my eyes
You made the meadow green
Than faded like a dream
Into the river
Love, change is never ending
Through time, we’re turning and bending
You cam, you cannot stay
A flame on a winter day
A bright and wondrous surprise
To light the world in my eyes
You turned the snow to Spring
Then vanished, like a dream, into the river….

A TIMELESS PLACE (The Peacocks) by Jimmy Rowles & Norma Winstone
The window….looked out onto a pattern, never ending…
A flower…and trees and little pathways far descending….
To the garden far below us….the pavilions in the sunlight….
Where the peacocks proudly grace the scene…
The vision….a timeless place, another way of living…
You moved in so close, I really thought that you were giving…
I allowed myself a moment…to believe that you could leave me…
To reflect upon what might have been…..
The summer sky…I saw reflected in the colour of your eyes….
But somehow i…could never peel away the layers of disguise….
I’m drowning now…I’m slowly sinking in a sea of blue and green….
Where what you are is never seen…how can anybody know you?
I still hear the ringing of the church bells in the morning…..
The peacocks still calling out their sad and bitter warning….
Beauty’s only an illusion….here your truth is an intrusion….
A mirage is all it’s ever been…….

Fragile
08:53
|
|||
If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one
Drying in the color of the evening sun
Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay
Perhaps this final act was meant
To clinch a lifetime's argument
That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could
For all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star
Like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are
How fragile we are
How fragile we are
How fragile we are
How fragile we are
How fragile we are

Touch Her soft Lips and Part (William Walton, LM Pagano)
I have a love --- And I’ll love him for life ---
Through the rains and the storms --
And the silence at night --
I have a love --- in a nest -- in the tree of my heart
Where it cautiously lives --- day to day --
And the mockingbirds sing—
To the constantly changing Refrain
Of the love song that lives in his heart ….
They sing, “Touch her soft lips, and part!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Nightengale (Deborah Henson-Conant)
Who will sing --- for the Nightengale?
When the night is gone ------ When the daylight comes?
Who will sing --- for the Nightengale?
When she sleeps alone in the sun?
Many’s the time --- her silken tones --
Soothed my rough ---- and weary bones ---
Many’s the time --- her lullabye ----
Brought me to my rest…..
But -- who will sing to the Nightengale?
Her own sweet song
Is silent now ……..
Who will sing to the Nightengale?
When she sleeps alone in the sun?
THE IRONIC WALTZ 9/8/05 Cathy Segal-Garcia
Life can be sometimes absurd…
You think you’re moving ahead.
Out in the blue,
Wandering through…
Caught in the Ironic Waltz!
All of a sudden you’re there,
Forced in a moment of time!
Strangely afraid,
Lost on your way…
Caught in the Ironic Waltz!
Living in the moment,
Looking for the beauty,
Trying hard to be above it all…
All at once the thought that
You are not alone, and
We are all the pieces
To this perfect puzzle…
Brings you back home to the waltz,
Balancing ying and the yang
Living today,
Playing the game…
Caught in the Ironic Waltz!
ONE MINUTE Cathy Segal-Garcia 2001
It took one minute to know
Our lives were intertwined.
And in one minute I’d lose
The life I’d leave behind.
I saw a lifetime there,
Deep in his eyes.
Knew the time was finally here
To realize.
I had one minute to do
Now what I thought was right.
It took one minute to choose
The life (man) I’d leave behind.
